Advisory Board:

World Grocer’s business strategy and affairs are overseen by our Advisory Board, which is comprised of one executive member and four independent outside members. Only the outside Advisory Board members serve on any Board committees.

The Advisory Board of World Grocer has helped us develop and adopt certain corporate governance principles establishing a common set of expectations to assist management as well as the Advisory Board and its committees in performing their duties in compliance with applicable requirements.

Advisory Board Members:

Anand Tandon is an independent Management Consultant, and also serves on the Board of a private investment company. He was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of an infrastructure development company, and has held increasingly responsible positions in the education, telecommunication, information technology and financial services industries, in both the US and overseas. Mr. Tandon has an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dr Ronald Jaecks, MD, FACS, has been a general surgeon for over 22 years. He is an expert in Laparoscopic surgery and devotes much of his practice to patients with breast cancer, colon cancer and lung cancer. He has won numerous awards including the Golden Scalpel Award for outstanding teaching, Kaiser Permanente’s “Cost Conscious Award" and, most recently in 2008, he was chosen by his peers to receive the Distinguished Physicians Award. He currently practices at Salem Hospital, and serves as the Oregon President-Elect of the Oregon Chapter- American College of Surgeons. Dr. Jaecks enjoys life as a vegetarian, with a passion for organic foods, water, and fiber.

Peter Hyde is a Process Consultant in Steel Mill Operations, with extensive experience in turnaround operations, due diligence procedures and practices, and the design and implementation of major capital investment programs of mills in the US, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the Middle East. His operating management expertise spans both Long and Flat Products, and he brings with him over 40 years’ manufacturing management experience in safety, product quality, team-building, cost reduction and productivity improvement of the steels industry. Mr. Hyde is a Member of the Iron and Steel Society. He has a B.Met., Metallurgy, from Sheffield University, and an M.Sc., Materials Science, from the College of Aeronautics, Cranfield, U.K.

Mike M. Bedi is the founder and managing attorney of Bedi & Martinez, a Washington, DC based law firm. He represents corporations and individuals from around the world in business and employment litigation, consular matters, and federal court actions. Based on 18 years of experience in law, he is able to provide effective, ethical and strategic solutions. Mr. Bedi obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) degree from N. Virginia Law School. In his spare time, Mr. Bedi coaches soccer and enjoys golf and tennis.

Jay Soni is Chief Financial Officer of a California-based software company, and brings over 18 years of progressive experience in financial operations and senior management from venture-backed early stage, Big Four public accounting and Fortune 500 organizations. His current responsibilities encompass key strategic and operational initiatives while leading the corporate finance, HR and IT functions. Mr. Soni has an MBA and MS degree from Long Island University, and also earned his CPA certification while working with a firm in New York City.
